An Argentinian Stunts legend, and probably the best racer ever not to have won a Zakstunts season. Alan Rotoi joined the community as part of the Golden Generation in April 2002 and entered with style: 5th place on ZCT14, 3rd place on ZCT15 and then three consecutive first places on ZCT16, 17 and 18. Alan Rotoi Z16 is one of the most famous replays in existence because, apart from being a breathtaking power gear ride, it was the first one to make crucial and successful use of the Magic Carpet. Rotoi won this track with a 9 second gap to second place. Despite his dominance in the middle part of 2002, Rotoi lost the Zakstunts season to Bonzai Joe, who had been playing from the beginning of the season, and also won the last two tracks.

Alan Rotoi continued racing in the top of the scoreboard until early 2004, when another Argentinian racer arrived and took the Zakstunts throne: Gutix.

In 2003, Alan Rotoi sent shockwaves through the Stunts world by opening the 4dStunts competition, which had more than 60 racers in the first race - easily the highest number of racers one one track ever. This competition showed the potential of Stunts, and although the racers numbers declined from the astronomic beginning, the tournament continued on a high participation level for about a year.

Alan Rotoi was one of the central figures in the community during 2002-2004, and although he has fallen into the background since then, he still comes back occasionally - notably he made a top result on ZCT79 which was Default with the Indy.

If you crash your car on a track, and then rewind and continue from an earlier point, the game will give you a prompt stating that you cannot get on the highscore table if you continue. Thus, ostensibly, it would be easy to prove whether replay handling was used simply by asking participants in a competition to send in the .hig file of the track along with the .rpl file. This was tried in some early competitions like Charles' Competition. However, .hig files are very easy to edit, so this did not work.

Then, in the late 90's, Mark Nailwood invented the program called RPL Info, which can determine from the file whether a replay is continued or not. This was considered a sufficient way of proving whether replay handling was employed, until it was discovered that if you save a replay before having finished it, and then load and continue from the end of the unfinished replay, it is not considered continued by the game, and thus not by RPL Info either.

Most competitions continued to rule out continued replays, but allowed this replay-saving trick, as there was no way to prove that it had been done. Then finally, in October 2002, Mingva revealed the secret of what came to be known as Advanced Replay Handling, and was the end of RH rules until 2005. It is possible to continue a replay as much as you like, and then simply fool the game and RPL Info by continue from maybe 1 second before the finish line, saving the replay 0.2 seconds before the finish line, loading and continuing from there. At this discovery, ZakStunts and other major competitions decided to allow continued replays, considering it foolish to require of racers to make the above described procedure.

OWOOT stands for "One wheel on/over track", and is a rule for certain competitions.

The rule means that you have to have at least one wheel on or over the track at all times. This means you cannot leave the road and make shortcuts, which makes for a totally different, cleaner and more perfectionistic races. The expression and the rule were first developed by Ruepel and Pershing II who made the ISA competition with this rule in 2002.

There is one general exception to the OWOOT rule: the grass square in the middle of a jump.

"Strict" OWOOT rule means no shorcut at all, meaning that racers must drive all stunt elements completely and "follow the yellow dots" in loops and corkscrews.
"Free" OWOOT rule means that you can cut some stunt elements (like driving only the right side of the corkscrew left/right), or jump over them.
Some cars in stunts have the ability to reach a so-called power gear or 6th gear. This usually happens while driving in the last official gear with a high RPM, and doing a jump. Some cars can reach it from any speed, when driving on a loop, and shifting to the last gear.

6th gear allows cars to go a lot faster than the given maximum speed and more importantly not even slow down on grass, when driving in 6th gear. These are: Porsche March INDY, Ferrari GTO, Corvette ZR1 and Acura NSX. There are some important differences betwen Power Gear behaviour of those cars:

* The INDY, Ferrari and Corvette go 245 mph in 6th gear, while the Acura only goes 203 mph.
* The INDY and the Acura can reach power gear from any speed using a loop, shifting up to 5th gear before reaching halfway through it.
* Also, INDY and Acura can reach Power Gear on a jump before getting airborne, or while driving around a left/right corkscrew.
* Unlike the other mentioned cars, the Acura is unable to do slide turns on grass or road while in Power Gear - attempting to do so will get the car out of Power Gear. (see, however, Helicopter trick)

For all four cars, power gear also allows the Fence Sliding trick on water.

Finding the 6th gear spots on a competition track is the key to victory.
6th gear was officially confirmed by Stunts lead programmer Kevin Pickell as a programming bug.
Most competitions continued to rule out continued replays, but allowed this replay-saving trick, as there was no way to prove that it had been done. It is possible to continue a replay as much as you like, andd then simply fool the game and rplinfo by continue from maybe 1 second before the finish line, saving the replay 0.2 seconds before the finish line, loading and continuing from there. At this discovery, Zakstunts and other major competitions decided to allow continued replays, considering it foolish to require of racers to make the above described procedure.

NoRH, short for "No Replay Handling", is a modality of racing where competitiors are not allowed to pause, rewind or load saved replays during their hotlaps, thus enforcing that every lap must be concluded in a single run and that mistakes can only be corrected by restarting from the beginning. Although NoRH has being long argued by racers opposing the use of Replay Handling (RH) as the purest form of racing, Stunts' replay management system does not allow to prove RH was not employed (see explanation here: RH Hiding), and thus NoRH races were held in the basis of mutual trust between competitors. SDR was the first competition to officially support NoRH racing making use of video footage as a tool of validation. SDR NoRH contest is to be suceeded by Krys Toff's Feel The Thrill contest in 2008.

"The Stunts Song" (unofficial name) is a song that has evolved during the three WSM's. It began in August 2004, when Dinmor, Zak McKracken, Akoss Poo and Bonzai Joe were waiting in a train in Budapest around midnight. Dinmor was eating an Alpenmilch Ritter Sport, but when Akoss tried to taste some of it, it was melting and looked slightly like shit. Akoss then sang "shitty shitty, shitty Alpenmilch" to the melody of "Venus In Furs" by Velvet Underground - a song which Dinmor had been whistling earlier that day. Slightly later, Akoss invented the next verse of the song, which went "chili chili, chili beans in pina" ("pina" is a Hungarian word for pussy). This was sung a lot during the 2004 meeting. In 2005, the song exploded into several new variations, JTK had brought his guitar to Århus, and together with Bonzai Joe's piano, this functioned sometimes as accompaniment to what had by then become the Stunts song, or at least the WSM song. The chords had been worked out (they are simply C minor and B flat, although in the original "Venus In Furs" they are different).Heaps of new verses were made, the most famous being: "fisse fotze, foufoune pina pizda" and "Diesel Diesel, Diesel Joe's still drinking". The first referring to what was on Akoss and Krys's minds, and the second referring to Diesel Joe's seemingly infinite liver.
With the "Diesel Diesel..." verse, another aspect of the song developed: the storytelling aspect. The racers would sing (always with the same melody) different verses about Diesel Joe, and then use "but Diesel Diesel, Diesel Joe's still drinking" as the refrain. Some of the other verses were "Diesel Diesel, Diesel Joe will vomit", "Diesel Diesel, Diesel Joe will pass out", etc.
Another year passed, then the WSM 2006 came, and once again, several new verses were made. On the trip to Kazincbarcika, in the night in the pavillion of Akoss Poo's father's garden, Dinmor, Bonzai Joe and Akoss Poo sang The Stunts Song for the last time yet, inventing a new variation: a verse would be song (to guitar accompaniment) 4 times. The first 2 normally, then going completely crazy shouting, dragging the beats and making syncopations and preferably vocal harmonies the third time, and finishing off quietly the 4th time. This was much to the distress of Zak, JTK and Usrin, who were trying to sleep only a few meters away.

The most famous verse still remains: "chili chili, chili beans in pina".
