In Stunts, the term IMSA car refers to the Porsche 962 IMSA and the Jaguar XJR9 IMSA, cars which were liberally modeled after IMSA GT cars from the decade of 1980 and included amongst the original selection of cars of the game. Both cars share many traits on-track, such as high acceleration and top speed (around 215mph), smooth handling relative to most of the other available cars and lack of Power Gear. Those attributes make them a popular choice between racers. In a broader sense, cheated cars with similar driving characteristics, such as the Melange, are sometimes refered to as IMSA cars.
