The Dodge Viper is a custom car created by Ryoma. Like the real car, it only reaches its top speed in 5th gear. 6th gear is only used for highway cruising to reduce fuel consumption. Because of this, 6th gear cannot be reached with an automatic transmission. The Viper in The Need for Speed also behaves this way.
