History

Founding (January 2004)

After Orion’s title-winning 2003 season, Alain and Mingva left the squad and, “unable to race without each other”, set up a new outfit named Mimas Racing at the end of January 2004. The change marked a break from Orion’s larger roster and a return to a two-driver structure. See Stunts Wiki – Orion.

ZakStunts season 2004

Mimas Racing entered the full 2004 ZakStunts calendar with Alain and Mingva as its two drivers. In the official team standings for the year, Mimas finished 5th with 283 points across rounds C34–C46. See ZakStunts – 2004 team standings.

The team’s highlight result came on ZCT40 – “High Five” (July 2004), where Alain took victory driving the Melange, scoring maximum points for Mimas Racing. See ZCT40 scoreboard.

Later status

Following 2004, the Mimas project wound down as its members focused on other activities; Mingva announced retirement from active Stunts competition at the end of the season, with brief returns later on. See Stunts Wiki – Mingva.

Legacy

Though active for a single season, Mimas Racing is remembered as the bridge between Orion’s 2003 title run and its founders’ later paths, and as one of the compact two-driver teams that shaped the competitive fabric of ZakStunts in the mid-2000s. See Orion and Racing teams.

Team name's origin

The team is named after Mimas, also designated Saturn I, which is the seventh-largest natural satellite of Saturn. It looks like the Star Wars Death Star.
