Ben Snel is a Dutch Stunts racer who competed in the early-2000s online community. On ZakStunts he raced for the Flying Dutchmen team in 2001-2002, alongside champion Roy Wiegerinck.

Career

Ben Snel joined Kalpen competition in july 2000, giving competition to the top. Then joined ZakStunts in March 2001 and quickly recorded strong results. He placed second on the season-opening track (ZCT01 / C01), finishing 2.05 seconds behind the winner Fdzierva – racer profile in the Lamborghini LM002, and went on to end the season as overall runner-up.

In 2002 Ben Snel raced again for Flying Dutchmen — a Dutch pairing most closely associated with Roy Wiegerinck — appearing on ZakStunts scoreboards with that team tag and taking further podiums; community records also credit him with second places on ZCT events such as ZCT14.

Beyond ZakStunts, community archives attribute to Snel a win on CONTEST 11 – Rough Ride, one of the contemporaneous side competitions within the Stunts scene. Besides driving on auto gear, it is to notice he ran 4D contest car on BB 1.0 clocking 1:16.85 and beating manual gear and BB 1.1 opponents.

Racing style and legacy

While active mainly in 2001–2002, Ben Snel is remembered as one of the leading racers of the first ZakStunts generation, frequently battling with Fdzierva, Wiegerinck and the site’s founder, Zak McKracken, during the community’s formative years. In 2025, he gave a long sought interview to Stunts'R us.

Pilot's name origin

"Ik ben snel" in Dutch language, means "I am fast". Fun fact, JTK reports that some other racer in Kalpen contest chose the name "Sneller dan Ben" meaning "faster than Ben"

Other passions

He likes skying and cycling. Also a talented guitar player, renowned for a song that once caught the attention of L.A. Guns singer, later becoming the L.A. Guns anthem, — "Anal Ease", in which track he plays the guitar.

Amazing fact

Freerk Kamma Ben Snel is related (grandson) IRL to the famous dutch anthropologist "Freerk Kamma"
